Woman Arrested For Trying To Save Son’s Marriage From Stalking Ex-Lover:

A Bulawayo woman has been arrested for trying to protect her son’s marriage by assaulting her son’s ex-lover for allegedly stalking him.

The accused, Cynthia Ncube (56) from Hillside suburb and employed at Montrose High School, landed herself in trouble after she physically harassed Grace Mafunga (27) from Mahatshula North after she found her at her unidentified son’s house in Emhlangeni.

It was recorded by B-Metro that on 16 February 2021 and at around 2 pm, Ncube and her husband went to Emhlangeni where their son stays.

When they arrived at the son’s place, they found Mafunga there and a misunderstanding arose after Ncube asked Mafunga what she was doing at the house since their son was now married to another woman.

It was reported that Mafunga told Ncube that it was her ex-boyfriend who had invited her to the house. Ncube is alleged to have charged at Mafunga saying she should leave her son alone as he was now married.

Mafunga, who is a student in Canada is alleged to have said she was not aware that her ex-lover was now married. It is reported that at the height of the confrontation, Mafunga went outside the house intending to answer her phone and this is how the whole drama unfolded.

Ncube, who suspected that Mafunga was trying to run away, followed her and violently dragged her back into the house.

Mafunga, who apparently didn’t sustain any injuries during the brawl, went and reported the harassment to the police leading to Ncube’s arrest.

Ncube appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Shepherd Mjanja charged with physical abuse as defined in Section 3 (1) (a) of the Domestic Violence Act Chapter 5:16.

She was however not asked to plead and was remanded out of custody to 26 April 2021 on $2 000 bail.
