Man Murders Wife And Commits Suicide Over Infidelity
In a rather sad development, A 35-year-old man from Fort Rixon in Insiza District, Matabeleland South ripped open his wife’s stomach with a knife before committing suicide in a fight over alleged infidelity
The accused, Clinton Khalipha who is 35 years old is reported to have mercilessly stabbed his wife Pretty Ncube(34) uncountable times on the neck, chest and abdomen before he committed suicide.
According to iHarare, Insp Loveness Mangena who is Matabeleland South Provincial Police spokesperson confirmed the incident and said that Ncube had made a report on her husband over domestic violence saying he was accusing her of infidelity.
Ncube is said to have obtained some minor injuries all over her body and Insp Mangena had advised her to visit a hospital. The police went to the crime scene but Khalipha was nowhere to be found.
“Instead of going to the hospital as advised, Ncube went back to her home where she found Khalipha fuming as to why she had reported him to the police and the two got into a heated argument,” said Insp Mangena.
She said Ncube’s mother overheard the heated argument and rushed to the police station and reported the matter.
“Upon arrival, the police found Ncube lying dead on the floor with intestines protruding from her stomach and a deep cut just below her right breast,” she said.
Insp Mangena said the police proceeded to the bedroom where they found Khalipha’s body hanging from a roof truss.
“We suspect that Khalipha stabbed his wife before hanging himself on the roof truss,” said Insp Mangena
She said the bodies were taken to United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH).
Police are on record urging members of the public to refrain from using violence to settle disagreements.
Instead, the police have advised that the feuding parties approach third parties like community, traditional or religious leaders to help them resolve their conflicts.
The police have community relations officers that can also assist in resolving quarrels.
