The government has eliminated the requirement that those who have received all recommended vaccinations wear facemasks in public with immediate effect.

The public will only be required to wear masks indoors, according to the new regulation announced by information minister Monica Mutsvangwa at Tuesday’s post-cabinet briefing.

Three years ago, the government instituted the use of face masks as a Covid-19 containment strategy.

Those who have been fully vaccinated are no longer mandated to wear masks in outdoor public. They have to carry their vaccination cards as evidence. In door public areas like indoor concerts etc, masks are mandatory.#PostCabinetBriefing
